Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close - Jonathan Safran Foer I read this over the course of two days while on breaks at work. I had a lump in my throat from trying not to cry in public pretty much the whole time. I loved the visuals that Foer added throughout the novel - they really helped me just completely immerse myself in the story and characters. It was like I was Oskar myself, heavy boots and all, flipping through the book of Stuff That Happened to Me. Even though some parts confused me (I still don't understand what happened with Anna), I think the story overall was very powerful, especially since it's coming mainly from a 9-yr-old boy. I want to read Everything is Illuminated now, in hopes that Foer used similar unique writing techniques. I enjoyed the movie so I'm thinking I'll like the book.
